New Features & Content

Gameplay & Objectives

  • A win screen has been added with a transition to conclude the game.
  • A start menu has been implemented to improve the initial user experience.
  • Players are now healed when interacting with objectives.
  • Goal gates and triggers have been introduced to define objective areas.
  • Two additional objective points have been added to the level.
  • An objective indicator and a guiding light path have been created to help players navigate to their next goal.
  • A help menu is now available to display game controls.

Character & Enemies

  • Character attacks are now fully animation-based.
  • Players can now sprint by holding the Shift key.
  • A new monster sprite with basic animations has been introduced.
  • Simple locomotion animations have been added for the player character.
  • New sprites have been added for improved overall visuals.

Environment & Lighting

  • The environment now features a decaying light level, which can be replenished by interacting with torches.
  • Torch prefabs have been added to the level.
  • Shadows for walls and overall lighting have been set up to enhance the atmosphere.
  • A "Shadow Maze" area has been added to the grid.
  • An additional final goal room has been included.

Improvements & Balancing

Combat & Player Feedback

  • Monsters now flash a different color when they take damage.
  • The player character now flashes to indicate when damage has been received.
  • A knockback effect has been implemented for monsters when hit.
  • A health bar with a decreased animation has been added for the player.
  • A camera shake effect now occurs when an objective is completed.
  • Initial balancing has been done to increase the player's light radius and movement speed.

Visuals & Camera

  • The starting positions for the player and the camera have been adjusted.
  • Global lighting has been improved.
  • Adjustments have been made to the camera's zoom and general behavior.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where monsters could still deal damage after they were defeated.
  • Resolved a bug related to the attack mechanic.
  • Corrected various issues with the camera and attack systems and updated associated prefabs.
  • Addressed bugs related to the death animation.
